Practical Recommendation

If you want "one card, done," this is about as easy as it gets: 3% back on everything, more on portal travel, and cash-out at one cent per point straight to your Robinhood brokerage. The catch: you must keep a Robinhood Gold subscription, so factor in $5/month or $50/year as your real "annual fee." At 3%, about $1,700 of annual spending covers that fee, and the extra point over a standard 2% card pays for itself quickly after that.

One thing that got worse: Robinhood added a 3% foreign transaction fee for cards opened on or after July 1, 2026. Existing cardholders keep 0%, but new applicants should stop thinking of this as a travel card and keep something else for trips abroad.

Best for existing Robinhood users who like simple, flat rewards and may invest their cash back. If you hate subscriptions or prefer airline/hotel transfer partners, look elsewhere. Bottom line: already pay for Gold? This can be your default swipe at home.

Perks

  • Earning details (simple math) – 3% back (in points) on virtually all consumer purchases; 5% on travel booked through the Robinhood Travel portal (U.S. dollar bookings only). Excludes cash equivalents (gift card loads, wires, money orders, etc.).
  • Virtual card numbers – Create disposable numbers for free trials or one-time purchases; easy to lock or cancel in the app.
  • Family authorized users – Add up to five cardholders (any age) with spend limits and real-time tracking. Good for building history and consolidating household spend.
  • Gas station redemption option – At participating pumps, redeem 1,450 points for $0.50 off per gallon (up to 20 gallons) right at the pump; handy if you prefer instant savings.
  • Foreign transaction fees (this changed) – Robinhood quietly added a 3% foreign transaction fee for accounts opened on or after July 1, 2026. Cardholders who were onboarded before that date are grandfathered at 0%. Practical tip: if you are applying now, this is no longer a travel card—carry a no-FTF card abroad.
  • Redemptions that make sense – Best value is $0.01 per point as cash moved to your Robinhood brokerage (then invest or withdraw). Gift cards and statement credits are available; statement credit is less than 1¢ value.

Protections

  • Trip Cancellation & Interruption – Reimburses non-refundable common-carrier tickets up to $2,000 per person if eligible events hit; good backstop for basic trips.
  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver – Coverage for theft or collision up to the car's actual cash value; primary outside the U.S., typically secondary in the U.S. Decline the rental counter's CDW.
  • Purchase Protection – Covers theft or accidental damage on eligible items up to $1,000 per claim and $10,000 per cardholder; useful on gadgets and small appliances.
  • Extended Warranty – Adds up to 1 extra year on eligible U.S. warranties of 3 years or less; can save you from buying store plans.
  • Return Protection – If a store refuses a return, coverage up to $250 per item, $1,000 per account per year; helpful for stubborn merchants.
  • Travel & Emergency Assistance / Concierge / Roadside Dispatch – Info, referrals, and assistance lines you can lean on; you pay for the services used.
