Practical Recommendation

Altitude Connect is a rare no-fee travel card with real multipliers: 4x on broad travel and gas, plus 5x on hotels and car rentals if you book through the bank's portal. Redemptions are simple (cash or travel), and you get a small taste of premium perks without paying a premium fee.

If you're fine booking portal hotels to chase 5x and you'll actually use the four Priority Pass lounge visits and the up-to-$100 TSA PreCheck or Global Entry credit, this is easy value. If you avoid portals on principle, treat it like a solid 4x travel/4x gas card and call it a day. The welcome offer stepped down to 20,000 points, so the up-front sweetener is smaller than it used to be.

Perks

  • Earning, at a glance – 5x on prepaid hotels and car rentals via the Altitude Rewards Center; 4x on travel; 4x on gas and ev charging (first $1,000 per quarter); 2x on dining, streaming, groceries; 1x on everything else. Use the portal when prices are equal or better; otherwise earn 4x on travel booked direct.
  • Priority Pass lounges – Complimentary Priority Pass Select membership with 4 free visits per membership year (enrollment required). Extra visits are paid. Good for occasional trips where a lounge makes delays less annoying. — See lounge list
  • No foreign transaction fees – Useful for international trips and foreign merchants; avoids the 1–3% many cards still charge.
  • Real-Time Rewards – Optional text-to-redeem setup that lets you use points as a statement credit on eligible purchases after you make them. Handy if you like instant, simple redemptions.
  • GigSky global mobile data – Complimentary data plans in many countries (enrollment needed; offer windows apply). Good backup when Wi-Fi fails on trips. — GigSky enrollment
